Luna Bengoechea
1984, Gran Canaria, Spain

Luna Begoeche’s work revolves around the problems of the modern food industry, the new models of food production and the speculation with natural goods, well known as commodities.

Throug her artistic proposal, she carries out a critical analysis of global food production and the contradictions of the market, and she manifests her position against macroeconomic agricultural policies and food biopiracy.

She delves into the consequences of industrial production, such as soil toxicity, the energy cost of intensive agriculture, dependence on the oil sector, impoverishment of farmers, patented seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and the management of water among others.

Her main interest is to reflect on these issues, be more aware of the situation and invite to reflection through my work.
