Statement

"My work has been exhibited in different places, a Zen temple, a baroque palace, medieval castles, gothic churches…Sometimes, people ask me: do you need to show your art in such wonderful and perfect places? Do you think that your artwork means something special added to these places? My answer is always based on how we face life during childhood.

When I was a child, everything was fun, I could play for hours without getting tired. Children have a pure look and sensibility, they easily find ways to enjoy themselves, they draw on paper when there is paper, on the wall if there is no paper, and on the floor if there is no wall.

When we are children, the sky, the trees, the leaves, the flowers, the animals, the insects… everything around us seems to speak to us as if they were alive, right? Children do not see the world in an intellectual way, they do not have prejudices, so they see and recognize beauty and emotions away from what is preconceived. Our adult behavior is supported by experiences we have lived throughout our lives and the way we receive the world around us.

We search for the most effective way to achieve success, trying to avoid failure, avoiding the waste of time. We end up repeating those behaviors that somehow we feel can give us certainty about how we are doing the right thing. The more successful the method we use, the further we move away from the possibility of experiencing new things spontaneously, thus moving away from the freedom of creation.

The basis of the children’s behavior does not contemplate the possibility of failure, but a constant emotion. The experience of freedom is what allows us to express ourselves without fear and therefore be able to create.

If life is the search for happiness, we would just need to restore the precise and pure essence of childhood.

Art means getting away from prejudices, accepting freedom as part of creation and enjoying each moment".
