A man of few words and valuable gestures of inventive generosity. His neatness technique is undeniable, his artistic skill is great and his creative character is constant.

For years I've checked the efforts of Francisco Farreras to go deep in an own language created by himself where the wood reliefs remain an especially poetic disquisition on what their role in the work is. Sometimes they seem the basis of everything, the abutment of the work; in others, they seem only the language used by the author to convey his intention; and others they become the final message that permeates the whole concept of each piece.

He is progressing in materials that slip imperceptibly through his work but surprising the viewer with signs from the past. All made by board circles, string pieces or burned varnishes. Each litle object is a new phoneme in his vocabulary, which instensifies the conversation.

With every new work, his language is simplified for the interlocutor who has acquired a certain skill in the use of his symbols, signs and silences.

All his paintings, collages, coudrages or other deformations should talk intimately with the viewer without intervention or explanation from its creator. It seems that I am hearing him saying "Works can't be explained, they can be felt, they must speak for themselves!"

Farreras's work over time has been consolidated to achieve absolute control of space, handling accurately the proportion and even discern the right use of color you are looking for a gap between the nuances that cause the woods.

Farreras, Paco, always makes references to shyness, to the instinctive, to what is learnet but not acquired. There is no better definition for his work that the one offered by him bewtween or above the lines. He blushes when he speaks about his work and now I know why.

He is embarrased to talk about how his work is instinctive and intimate, how is born from the unknown, from his naturalness and his forcefulness. It is simply a vital necessity.

Through the years, Farreras's work has evolved to achieved an absolute control of space, to manipulate proportions with complete precision and even to be able to use the right color.

Farreras is not an artist that needs to take refuge in shapes, in institutional relationships or academic appointments. He does not need approval or applauses, he only needs to create and in his creation appears his speech.
