PHotoEspaña 2016

The exhibition Inner Landscapes / Paisaje Interior will be part of Festival Off, included in PHotoEspaña. This year, the edition is about Europe.

If we stick to the definition of the Real Academia Española, we understand that landscape is that painting, photography, etc., representing a portion of field, forest or city in which human figures do not appear or play a secondary role.

What emerges from Christian Voigt’s photographs is a portion of field, forest or city in which human figures do not appear or play a secondary role provoking a realistic, objective image under which you can sense a certain personal story. What is portrayed in the photograph is the story that Voigt lives and feels while he himself plays the role of the spectator. What we perceive is a suggestion, an open door to creativity, leaded by the subliminal intervention of the author.

Christian Voigt`s monumental pictures open up to us like a festival for our senses. Our thoughts cross continents and cultures through these images. Chaos and order, opulence and simplicity are all equal in a pictorial cosmos that shows us the multifaceted nature of the world.

The enthusiasm that Voigt dedicates to his work permeates an extremely vitalist energy to his photographs and, almost without realizing, we step into a path of meditation on life -the world and the human being- in it broadest sense that makes us accomplices of such a private and remarkable story … bringing the landscape to an intimate depth.
