In collaboration with the Argentinian Department of Culture, the Argentinian Embassy in Spain and arteBA, the Fair will reflect the vigorous art scene in Argentina.
Following a break for the 35th anniversary of ARCOmadrid, the Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo organised by IFEMA will reinstate their feature Guest Country with the presence in 2017 of one of the most active artistic markets in Latin America, Argentina, who will attend as guest of honour. The 36th Fair, from 22 to 26 February 2017, will bring together a selection of galleries selected by Inés Katzenstein, independent curator and director of the art department at UTDT, who will bring to Madrid the contemporary production of this important artistic focus. As it will be in the traditional format, Focus Argentina will include the presence of both galleries and different exhibitions in Madrid, and under the direction of Sonia Becce will extend current Argentinian art to different spaces in Spain. Professionals from the country will participate in an Experts Forum, which will bring closer the current artistic market in Argentina and offer a vision of the most relevant work in terms of collecting, curating and critics there.
The Focus Argentina programme is supported by the Argentinian Department of Culture, the Argentinian Embassy in Spain and arteBA.
