Cristina Gamón (1987, Valencia, Spain) plays the romantic archetype of an artist worried about the practices of arts, their analysis and study.
Her work contributes to the group of represented artists of the gallery, with a intuitive concern about painting, about the artwork as mean of expression and as an end itself. Her work is emotional, organic, biomorphic, it exalts the spontaneous while she delights herself in the use of colors. The abstraction is transformed in lyrical poetry in her works. The creative process is intimate and it moves forward as an extension of the feeling that she experiments over the surface of the painting. The materials acquire its own relevance, and they are an esential part of her compositions.
Cristina represents the expression of the pictorical emotion of the artist, individual and inmediate. In her work, that rhythm can be sense, that harmony, that tone that bring us closer to a musical abstraction.
Her intention of causing feelings using a great variety of colors and the way she suggests empty spaces for letting the curiosity of the spectator pass, assist that interaction proposed by the artist with the solid intention of getting a reaction.
A reserved and evocative painting, a proposal that in addition to show feelings, tries to wake them up.
The professional career of Cristina Gamón is full of successes and awards, one of the most recent is the First Prize Reina Sofia 2016 of Painting and Sculpture.
Lucía Mendoza Gallery will be part of the 2nd Edition of Art Marbella, and it will be there where the works of Cristina Gamón will be shown for the first time as represented artist of our gallery.
