APERTURA MADRID GALLERY WEEKEND is organised annualy by ARTE_MADRID as a celebration of art and culture. Every September, events take place throughout day and night with 44 contemporary art galleries simultaneously inaugurating their exhibitions. It includes a complete programme of activities in museums, art centres and galleries that boosts Spanish plastic arts and cultural industries on both a national and international scale. Apertura broadens Madrid's cultural offer along the lines of the Berlin Gallery Weekend or Choices Collectors Weekend.
Beatriz Lecuona and Óscar Hernández have inaugurated the exhibition "Hábitos Modernos" at La Regenta Art Center, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The exhibition can be visited free of charge from April 20th to June 23rd.
Cristina Gamón has been the artist invited by the Galerie Stephanie to make an artistic residency in Manila. This was the first time that she has worked and exhibited her work in the Asian continent.
Her most recent projects are related to Goethe's Color Theory. This is due to her stay in residence in the geographical North Pole, where, because of the summer solstice, she considered how to represent the transition of colors caused by sunlight throughout the day, since there is no sunrise or dusk.

The Initiation Course to Drawing and Botanical Illustration took place from June 28th until July 2nd at Canary Islands Association of Visual Artists (AICAV). The course was taught by Marta Chirino, artist represented by Lucia Mendoza Gallery, and Shevaun Doherty at the headquarters of the San Martin Center of Contemporary Culture.
